160613 - Disaster Survival - Roads are closed & phones don’t work, what now?

The question is not if a disaster will happen, but when? With students at school, and parents at work, how will you all find each other? Do you currently have a plan? This course will assist you and your family in creating a disaster plan including how to get home, supplies necessary for a personal “bug out bag”, and how to shelter in place. You will also gain hands-on basic first aid skills such as CPR, how and when to use an AED, splinting and how to control bleeding. But first, we have to get you home, and using some basic urban survival skills like how to use a map (and not the one on your phone because it won’t work!), and how to find drinkable water, you will get home to your family and loved ones. All attendees will also receive a CPR face barrier for their key-chain.

    160614 - Workplace & School Safety

It is an unfortunate truth, active shooter incidents are on the rise. Whether you are at school, the mall, a concert in the park, or the movie theater...do you know how to protect yourself and your family from an active threat? In this class, we will discuss “situational awareness” and how it can save your life. We will talk about and practice the” Run, Hide, Fight” philosophy. I will show you how to evaluate any room and and quickly identity what can be used to protect yourself and your family. You will gain hands-on experience performing CPR, controlling bleeding, use of an AED, and general first aid. And finally, once the threat has been neutralized, how to appropriately conduct yourself once authorities arrive. All attendees will also receive a CPR face barrier for their key-chain.
